Please plan to attend one of the Kansas Dept. of Transportation (KDOT) Local Consult Meetings scheduled in September and October. This is an opportunity for Rail Passengers members to request, provide input and prioritize potential expansion and modernization projects. It also provides the opportunity to strengthen local partnerships and demonstrate which KDOT programs matter most to our communities and the state.
These meetings provide the best opportunity for Rail Passengers members to show support for the HEARTLAND FLYER EXTENSION project. The Northern Flyer Alliance has promoted this development through legislation, grants, consultation, and lobbying. Please help and contribute to this effort by registering to attend. For more information go to the KDOT Consult website HERE, or, contact Mark Corriston, Kansas Council Member at [email protected], or even give Mark a call at 913-406-0827.
Listed below are the meeting dates locations and times:

"I wish to extend my appreciation to members of the Rail Passengers Association for their steadfast advocacy to protect not only the Southwest Chief, but all rail transportation which plays such an important role in our economy and local communities. I look forward to continuing this close partnership, both with America’s rail passengers and our bipartisan group of senators, to ensure a bright future for the Southwest Chief route."
